I have only two box of computers ,Ethernet cards and crossover cable.
Lan card is compatible with Novell NE2000.

My computers are 486PC. and FreeBSD ( version  2.1.7)  is installed.


I happened to meet some problems...
gateway,nameserver and IP address etc.. 
Problems happen to software network configuration. Not a mediume problem.


computer send error message -->"ed1 : device timeout"

I wanna communicate with two computer without HUB ....independent of
another computers

 
wish for your appropriate answer.. ;>
